Pricing & quotes

How much does house cleaning cost?

Local Redding rates, what changes the price, and how our flat quotes work.

A standard clean of a Redding 3 bed 2 bath home typically costs $150 to $230. Independent cleaners charge about $22 to $35 an hour, and licensed, insured companies about $70 to $75 per crew hour. See every range on our cleaning prices page.

Independent house cleaners in Redding charge about $22 to $35 an hour, local crews about $35 to $40 an hour, and licensed, insured companies about $70 to $75 per crew hour. Company rates include insurance, supplies and a backup cleaner.

Yes, for an independent cleaner. $25 an hour sits in the normal Redding range of $22 to $35 for someone working on their own. Expect to supply products, and ask whether they carry liability insurance.

A deep clean usually costs 1.5 to 2 times a standard clean, because it takes 5 to 8 cleaner-hours for a 3 bed 2 bath instead of 2.5 to 4. Condition, pets and buildup change the total most.

It is on the low end for Redding. Independent cleaners here usually charge $22 to $35 an hour, so $20 often means a newer cleaner, no liability insurance, or that you supply the products. It can work for light upkeep; ask about insurance and experience first.

Yes. $30 an hour is a fair mid-to-upper rate for an experienced independent cleaner in Redding, where the range is about $22 to $35. Companies charge about $70 to $75 per crew hour because that includes insurance, supplies, a backup cleaner and a re-clean policy.

By the job. We estimate the cleaner-hours your home needs from its size, bathrooms, pets and condition, then give you one flat price before we start. The price you approve is the price you pay.

The first visit removes months of buildup on baseboards, grout, fans and appliances, so it takes 1.5 to 2 times longer than a maintenance clean. After that, weekly or biweekly visits stay quicker and cheaper.

Yes, per visit. Weekly and biweekly cleans cost less each time because less dirt builds up between visits. Monthly cleans cost more per visit than biweekly, and one-time cleans are priced like a deep clean.

Usually within one business day. Send your bedrooms, bathrooms, pets and a 1 to 10 condition rating through our quote form or call (530) 201-4234.

Booking & scheduling

How does booking and scheduling work?

Timing, schedules, access and what to do before we arrive.

One cleaner needs about 2.5 to 4 hours for a standard clean of a 3 bed 2 bath and 5 to 8 hours for a deep clean. A two-person team finishes in about half the clock time.

In one hour a cleaner can usually do one bathroom and a kitchen wipe-down, or the kitchen alone. One hour is best for a quick touch-up between regular cleans, not a whole home.

In 3 hours one cleaner can usually complete a standard clean of a maintained 2 or 3 bedroom home: kitchen, two bathrooms, dusting, bedrooms and all floors.

About 2.5 to 4 hours for one cleaner on a standard clean of a maintained 3 bedroom, 2 bath home, and 5 to 8 cleaner-hours for a deep clean. A two-person team finishes in about half the clock time; pets, stairs and buildup add time.

Declutter first, then clean top to bottom and dry before wet: dust fans, vents and shelves, clean the kitchen and bathrooms, and do floors last, working from the back of each room toward the door. See our cleaning process.

A standard clean of a 1,500 sq ft home takes one cleaner about 2.5 to 3.5 hours. A deep clean takes about 5 to 7 cleaner-hours.

Every two weeks suits most Redding households. Choose weekly for pets, young kids or allergies, especially during spring pollen and summer smoke season, and monthly for small, tidy homes.

No. Most clients leave a lockbox or door code. Codes go only to your assigned cleaner, and we lock up and text you when we leave.

Pick up clutter, dishes and laundry so paid time goes to cleaning, secure nervous pets and leave entry instructions. You do not need to pre-clean.

The 5-5-5 rule is a quick tidy: pick five small zones and spend five minutes on each, or put away five things in five minutes. It is a good way to prep before a cleaner arrives.

Spend most of your effort on the few areas that make most of the visible difference: kitchen counters and sink, bathrooms, the entry, and floors in the main rooms. It is a quick-reset method between full cleans, similar to the 5-5-5 rule.

A few days is usually enough for a one-time clean. Recurring clients keep a set day. Spring, the holidays and summer move-out season fill fastest, so book one to two weeks ahead then.

What’s included

What is included in a house cleaning?

Standard vs deep, room by room, and what we do not do.

A standard clean covers the kitchen (counters, sink, stovetop, appliance fronts, microwave), bathrooms (tub, shower, toilet, sink, mirrors), dusting of surfaces, fans and sills, beds made, trash emptied and all floors vacuumed and mopped. Details are on our house cleaning page.

A standard clean maintains a home that is already in good shape. A deep clean adds the places a standard clean skips: hand-washed baseboards, cabinet fronts, blinds, light fixtures, and soap scum and mineral buildup. Most homes need one deep clean first.

Yes, as add-ons on a standard clean, and on request with a deep clean. They are included in every move-out clean, where the home is empty.

Light dishes and folding a load of laundry can be added on request. Tell us when you book so we plan the time.

Interior windows can be added to a house cleaning. Full inside-and-outside window washing, screens, tracks and solar panels are booked as window cleaning.

We clean under and behind light furniture we can safely move. We do not move heavy furniture or appliances, for your floors and our cleaners’ safety.

We do not do carpet shampooing, mold remediation, biohazard or hoarding cleanup, smoke odor or soot restoration, exterior pressure washing or anything that needs climbing on a roof. We refer those to specialists.

Deep & move-out

Deep cleaning and move-out questions

Getting a home reset, or getting your deposit back.

Once or twice a year for most Redding homes: in late spring after pollen season and in fall after smoke season. Homes with pets or allergies may want it every three to four months.

An empty-home clean: inside every cabinet and drawer, inside the oven and fridge, bathrooms including hard-water spots, baseboards, sills, light switches, doors and floors. See move-out cleaning. Doing it yourself? Use our move-out cleaning checklist.

Yes. We need running water and electricity to clean appliances, vacuum and mop, so schedule the clean before utilities are shut off.

A thorough move-out clean gives you the best chance, but your landlord decides deductions. In California, landlords must photograph the unit at move-out under AB 2801, so the condition you leave it in is on record. This is not legal advice.

After the movers leave and before your final walkthrough, ideally one to two days before you hand back the keys.

Trust & safety

Can I trust a house cleaner in my home?

Insurance, background checks, keys and privacy.

Yes. Our cleaners are covered by liability insurance and bonding, and we show proof when asked.

Liability insurance pays for accidental damage, like a broken lamp or a scratched floor. A bond reimburses you if an employee steals from your home. A trustworthy cleaning service carries both.

Yes. Every cleaner is background-checked before their first job and trained on our checklist before cleaning on their own.

For recurring cleans we schedule the same cleaner whenever possible. If they are out, a trained backup follows the same written checklist for your home.

Tell us within 48 hours and we handle it through our liability insurance. Please put away irreplaceable items before your first clean.

Tell us within 24 hours, with a photo if you can. We come back and re-clean any missed checklist item at no charge. See our process.

Ask five things: are you insured and bonded, do you background-check, will I get the same person, what is on the checklist, and what happens if something is missed. Our hiring guide covers red flags.

Pets, supplies & allergies

Pets, products and allergy questions

What we bring, and how we work around pets and sensitivities.

Yes. We bring products, color-coded microfiber cloths, mops and HEPA vacuums to every clean. Tell us if you want your own products used.

Fragrance-free and gentler products are available on request. Tell us about allergies, asthma or chemical sensitivities when you book.

Yes. Friendly pets can stay out. Nervous or protective dogs are best in a closed room, a crate or the yard, and we keep doors and gates the way you left them.

Pets do not add a fee on their own, but heavy shedding adds time, so it is reflected in your flat quote. Tell us how many pets you have when you book.

It helps. HEPA vacuums trap fine dust, pollen and pet dander instead of blowing them back into the air, and damp-wiping removes what dry dusting spreads. Weekly cleans work best during Redding’s spring pollen season.

Redding-specific

Redding cleaning problems, answered

Smoke, pollen, red dirt, heat and lake season.

Damp-wipe and HEPA-vacuum every surface from the top down, and never dry-sweep or use a leaf blower on ash. Replace your HVAC filter. Heavy soot or a smell that will not leave needs a restoration company. See our smoke cleanup guide.

Redding’s allergy season runs from late January into early November. Oak pollen peaks in March and April, grasses in spring and again in September, and ragweed in late summer.

Let it dry completely, vacuum it out slowly, then blot what is left with a little dish soap in cool water. Never scrub it wet first. Set-in stains usually need hot water extraction. See our red dirt guide.

Late spring, around May, after oak and grass pollen peaks, and again in October or November after fire season. Our seasonal calendar has the full year.

Yes. We turn over short-term rentals in Redding and Shasta Lake between guests: linens, kitchen and bathroom reset, restocking and a damage report. See our vacation rental guide.

Yes. On triple-digit days we start as early as the schedule allows. During hazardous smoke advisories or evacuation warnings we may reschedule at no charge.

All of Redding (ZIP codes 96001, 96002 and 96003) plus Anderson, Shasta Lake, Palo Cedro, Cottonwood and Bella Vista. See our service areas.

Not inside Redding city limits. Homes in Palo Cedro, Bella Vista, Cottonwood or on long rural roads may carry a small travel charge, always shown in your flat quote.

Not on a regular schedule right now. Ask anyway, because larger one-time jobs farther out are sometimes possible.

Office, commercial and window cleaning

For businesses, property managers and homes with lots of glass.

Window washing in Redding averages $232 to $309 per job, with most quotes between $113 and $455, depending on the number of panes, inside and outside, screens, tracks and second-story glass. See window cleaning.

Twice a year for most homes: late spring after pollen and fall after smoke season. Storefronts and homes on dirt roads may want it every three months.

Payment, tips & policies

Payment, tipping and cancellations

The fine print, in plain English.

Payment is due on the day of service. Recurring clients can keep a card on file and are charged after each clean. We confirm accepted payment methods when you book.

Tipping is appreciated but not required. For a one-time or deep clean, $10 to $20 per cleaner or about 10 to 20 percent is common. Recurring clients often give a holiday tip instead. See our tipping guide.

About $50 to $100, which is 10 to 20 percent. On a large deep or move-out clean done by a team, $20 to $30 per cleaner is also common. Tipping is always optional.

Please give at least 48 hours notice to cancel or move a cleaning. Late cancellations or locked-out visits may carry a fee, confirmed when you book. See our cleaning policies.

No. You can book a single clean first and continue on a schedule only if you like the work.

Yes. Cleaning for a Reason is a national nonprofit that arranges free house cleanings through local cleaning companies for people in cancer treatment, including in Shasta County.
