How it works, start to finish

Our Cleaning Process

From your first message to a finished house, every clean follows the same six steps: a flat quote, a confirmed booking, a written checklist, a top-to-bottom clean, a final check and a 24-hour re-clean promise. Here is exactly what happens at each step, and what, if anything, you need to do.

The short version

  • Flat quote in one business day
  • Confirmed date and arrival window
  • Written checklist for your home
  • Room-by-room clean, top to bottom
  • 24-hour re-clean if anything is missed

Six steps

How does a house cleaning appointment work?

Every job, from a one-bedroom apartment to a move-out on acreage, follows the same process.

1

Request a quote

Tell us your bedrooms, bathrooms, pets and how the house looks today on a scale of 1 to 10, by form, call or text.

2

Get a flat price

We send one price, usually within one business day. For large homes or offices we may do a quick walkthrough first.

3

Book your day

Pick a date and a 2-hour arrival window, and tell us how to get in: you at home, a lockbox or a door code.

4

We build your checklist

Your cleaner gets a written room-by-room checklist, with your special requests and problem spots at the top.

5

The clean

Top to bottom, dry to wet, back of the room to the door, using HEPA vacuums and fresh microfiber for each area.

6

Final check and follow-up

Your cleaner walks the checklist before leaving and texts you when done. Missed something? Tell us within 24 hours and we come back.

Step 1 and 2

How do you price a cleaning?

We price by the job, not the hour. Bathrooms, square footage, pets and the condition of the home decide how many cleaner-hours the job needs, and we turn that into one flat price before we start. The price you approve is the price you pay.

The 1 to 10 condition rating matters most. A home rated 8 that gets cleaned every two weeks takes far less time than a home rated 3 that has not had a deep clean in a year. Honest ratings mean honest prices, and there is no judgment either way. See typical ranges on our cleaning prices page.

What sets the price

  • Number of bathrooms and bedrooms
  • Square footage and stairs
  • Pets and shedding
  • Condition rating, 1 to 10
  • Add-ons like inside the oven or fridge
  • Distance for homes outside Redding

Step 5

What happens during the clean?

Your cleaner works room by room from the written checklist, using the same order every time: top to bottom, dry before wet, and from the back of each room toward the door. That order is what keeps a Redding home from getting pollen, red dirt or ash spread around during the clean itself.

Top to bottom

Fans, vents and shelves first, floors last, so dust and pollen fall onto surfaces we have not cleaned yet.

Dry before wet

Dust and dry-vacuum first, then damp-wipe and mop. Wiping red dirt or ash wet just smears it.

Separate cloths by area

Color-coded microfiber: one set for kitchens, another for bathrooms, never the other way around.

HEPA vacuums

Fine dust, pollen, pet dander and smoke ash stay in the vacuum instead of going back into the air.

Back of the room to the door

Each room is finished working toward the exit, so nothing gets walked on after it is clean.

Checklist as we go

Each item is checked off room by room, with your requests first.

Timing

How long does a cleaning take?

One cleaner usually needs 2.5 to 4 hours for a standard clean of a 3 bed 2 bath home, and 5 to 8 cleaner-hours for a deep clean. A two-person team finishes in about half the clock time. First visits and homes with heavy buildup take longer.

Type of clean3 bed 2 bath, one cleanerWith a two-person team
Standard recurring clean2.5 to 4 hoursAbout 1.5 to 2 hours
Deep clean5 to 8 hoursAbout 2.5 to 4 hours
Move-out clean (empty home)4 to 8 hoursAbout 2 to 4 hours
Apartment or condo standard clean1.5 to 2.5 hoursAbout 1 to 1.5 hours

Step 6

What happens if you are not happy with the cleaning?

Tell us within 24 hours, with a photo if you can. If an item on your checklist was missed or not done well, we come back and re-clean that area at no charge. The guarantee covers checklist items, not tasks that were never booked.

Most issues are small: a missed baseboard, a streak on a mirror, a room that needed more time. We note it on your checklist so it does not happen again on the next visit. Full details are in our cleaning policies.

  • Report within 24 hours by call, text or email
  • Send a photo if you can

FAQ

Process FAQs

Questions about how a clean works? Call and a real person will walk you through it.

Not required. Many clients are home for the first visit to walk through priorities, then leave a lockbox or door code after that.

Yes, anytime. Text or email the change and it goes at the top of your list for the next visit.

Yes: HEPA vacuums, microfiber, mops and products. Tell us if you want your own products or fragrance-free options used.

A trained backup cleaner follows the same written checklist for your home, or we move your visit to the next open day if you prefer to wait.

Tell us about pets when you book. Friendly pets can stay out; nervous dogs are best in a closed room, a crate or the yard. We keep doors and gates the way you left them.
